Name: Crystal Dunn
Desired user name: Lady Vile
Art form: mixed media and photography
Hobbies: anything crafty, painting, working in the darkroom,
collecting vintage clothing, and day dreaming about squids.
How you got into your art: finger painting in the womb
What makes you stand out from the rest? MY art is methodically
dilapidated ... and my skin feels like olives.
What motivates and inspires you: anything squishy, old keys, feathers,
black ink and good cheese.
Future goals: to show the world what the universe looks like in my
furry brain. I would also like to create eternally.
Current activities, events, concerts, etc: I am involved in several
art projects through different galleries. Creating my own fashion
line, drawing comics, and mastering the unique art of recreating
uncomfortable situations for comical purposes.
Future activities, events, concerts, etc: I have a few paintings being
hung in shows, Freelance work, acting performances, and lots of nights
trying to finish work with no sleep and Red Bulls. I would also like
to go for a hot air balloon ride at some point.
What does "Create your culture" mean to you?
Sounds like homework. But
if I had to guess what "create my culture" means, I suppose it would
entail offering a new perspective on the world and the people I
currently live in and with. It could mean that we, the Living, have a
chance to create a whole new level of seeing where the possibilities
are only as limited as we imagine ... as we let them become. A way to let
reality shift shape and make it our own. A way to perpetuate our
energies and manifest it into several creative outlets. Or it could be
just a name for another reality makeover show.
What has been your greatest challenge?
To live in a copasetic manner
with all the many unbalanced daily problems life throws at you,
keeping track of my keys, and being able to get over the fact that I
will never have a tail.
How did you achieve your goal?
By having so many. If I have too many
of them, then I'm bound to succeed at at least one
What has been your worst failure? I don't consider anything I Have
done in my life a failure. Perhaps that could be considered a failure?
Bio.
I was born May of 1981 in Enterprise, Alabama. Since then I have lived
the life of a gypsy, migrating amongst the country, from the swamps of
the South to California, Alaska, Texas, Virginia and New York City. I
currently reside in Baltimore.
I am by definition an artist, dabbling in every form of creative
expression humanly possible ... creating even in my dreams If I was made of rubber
and hot air, I would float away. I can not imagine a day where I
wasn't using my hands to give birth to a new concept created in my own
mind. And I really, really, love egg salad.
